The importance of relaxation

Our fast-paced modern society seems to reward a busy lifestyle — not time spent doing “nothing.” However, like the ancient principles of yin and yang, our bodies, minds and emotions were not intended to be in a constant state of busy, working on a seemingly endless list of tasks. For optimal health and happiness, we need balance. Giving the self an opportunity to pause, relax and listen is vital for wellbeing. It may seem like a waste of time to be “idle,” but it’s in these moments when healing occurs and, in fact, some of our greatest ideas and revelations can take place.
Yoga isn’t about fancy poses. It’s about coming back to you. It’s about learning the tools to handle life’s inevitable issues. It’s about finding the peace that’s always within us. And when we find that, the world seems more peaceful too.
We might not be able to change the world live in, but we can change our responses to it. My unique blend of yoga, meditation and energy healing will do just that, putting the power back into your hands.
I’ve been practicing yoga for over 30 years and truly believe that yoga is for everybody and every body. I teach a variety of techniques to help you “go with the flow,” rather than struggle against the current. The keys to peace, happiness and bliss are easy to access. Let’s unlock the door…

Our Offerings
Yoga
I specialize in restorative, yin and gentle yoga. If you’re looking for a vigorous workout, this isn’t it! This is yoga at a slower pace: taking time to explore what our bodies, minds and spirits are communicating to us, creating opportunities to calm and center ourselves.
Meditation and Breathwork
There are many ways to meditate, including playing music, creating art and being in nature. I offer guided meditations, using visualizations, breathing techniques and the ancient practice of yoga nidra to relax and release tension, so that you can let go of what you don’t need and reconnect to yourself. Even better, the majority of these meditations can be done lying down in a relaxed position.
Reiki
Reiki is a form of energy healing that can be a complementary therapy for a variety of issues. Most recipients find it to be comforting and relaxing. Interestingly, because Reiki is a form of energy, it can be received either in person or from a distance, hands-on or hands-off.
